How does it work?
Electrolysis occurs when copper and magnesium, as a cathode and anode, are placed in a mineral rich water causing the breaking down of some of the water molecules to their constituent parts - known as hydrogen and oxygen ions.
Magnesium has a lesser electro-negetivity and becomes a sacrificial element giving off free ions of magnesium. Magnesium is interesting because it will protect the inside of pipes and feeder lines - but the negative ions prevent scale build up. At the same time, magnesium is important for plants and animals. Magnesium is one of the critical elements for photosynthesis to occur.
The ions from the electrolysis process now attacks the calcite turning it into calcium bicarbonate - the soft form of calcite. Another object of observation is the elimination of salt (NaCl) and the removal of chlorine and other toxic contaminants from the water. Chlorine is corrosive to pipes and equipment to which it is exposed. The production of free electrons and negative ions reduces the tension on water droplets allowing greater flow we've seen up to 20% increase of water flow and a reduction in pumping requirements.
Re-Piping?
Recently, a commercial customer of ours called a local plumbing contractor due to having no hot water. The contractor inspected their Raypak Tube Bundle and declared that calcium scaling and clogged up the tubes and the bundle needed to be replaced because the Ejax System does not work. Our customer signed off on the costly repair order and angrily contacted our company for not protecting his tube bundle as we promised our system would. We inspected the tube bundle once it was removed (the contractor did not inspect the interior of the tube bundle before making their recommendation) and found the interior free of any scale build up which we showed to the business owner.
This just goes to show what a bad plumbing contractor can do. Total re-piping and replacement/installation of expensive appliances is a high profit proposition to a plumber. Our customer spent many thousands of dollars he did not have to on the contractor's word. Our system protects your plumbing and connected appliances, extending the life of your investment.
